Hmm... Haven't seen this on the Q5s that we have got in for 13. This is something that our cars with Auto-Start stop (A6, A7, A8). Does your Q5 have auto start/stop?

When you turn the car off the ebrake is automatically applied. When you next enter the car the ebrake will disengage ONLY if you have the driver's seatbelt on/snapped in.
