I got rid of my ZR1 because there are just too many corvettes everywhere you go, and GM loves to share the parts between all of the models. Not sure if I'd ever buy another Corvette, but I'll keep my eye on the C7 especially when the high performance model(s) are revealed. I thought about getting the new Viper, but the reviews state the suspension is too stiff for even track use combined with uncomfortable seats makes me want to wait until I can experience the car first hand.
my sentiments exactly on the C7. I eagerly awaited for the C7 But I knew GM wouldnt come up with any design that would blow me away. I agree with you 100%, so many have corvettes out there and the C6 looks too much like the C5. My thinking was a radical exotic look would eclipse all the corvettes out there they instead made the rear into a camaro. How awfull

    Loving it.
Thats the problem, too many blends. You have a Ferarri cue from the front, which is nice, but a camaro cue in the rear. I am only one opinion but I think the rear ruins the car. There has already been talk about vendors making an after-market rear, atleast dumping the camaro-tail lights.

Not keen at all, too much metal work behind the rear wheel, makes the rear wheels look around 14", and from the back it's awful.

Still, each to their own, life would be dull if we all liked the same thing.

This will be one of those cars that looks best in black to help integrate all of the diverse design elements

Not a fan of the Camaro rear end either. Seems like they missed a chance to continue the corvette legacy with a distinctive rear view.

Yup. i Agree. Incidentally, I saw 2 camaros going to work today and all I can think was the C7. How sad is that after owning 3 of them in the past 20 years? There was so much potential for that car. We had a few photochops of the rear on the corvetteforum and they looked sweet. Oh well, we will see if any MY designs ditch the camaro look. One can only hope. The base price is not bad either when you consider how much the R8 HAS Skyrocketed from its first year in 2008. The R8 is 3 times the price of a C7 with the 911 Turbo right behind in price. But the reality is I wouldnt have a C7 if you gave it to me. I cant imagine myself having to look at that UCB (Ugly Camaro Butt). I'd always have to park with the front facing outward in conjunction to my returning view. Yuck.

Front is fresh new and stylish..however get past the door and the quarter rear and back end are horrible IMO and I agree with other comments re Camaro look a like..

Good to see interior improvements which is definitely a step forward.

I was looking forward to see the C7 as the Z1 looked the business to me..however.

Maybe the update in a couple of years will fix it.

Interesting that GM decided to stay with a lower tech 6,500 RPM engine for their completely new vehicle when Audi R8, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche all have redlines north of 8,000.

Since it is still a pushrod V8 with 50% greater displacement than the 4.2 V8, I'd expect this to limit the maximum rpm.

For those who might be interested in such, ... and with these additional words added to the subject: " ... first new C7 crash 'announced' "

    http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...ingray-crashed

Postscript: Although this event occurred in Arizona, the vehicle displays a Michigan Manufacturer's [license]plate, identified by a small M in its center, and isn't easily discerned by casual observation. While it is not surprising, the designation is frequently seen in this poster's geographical region.
