best luxury resort north east US??

looking for a place to drive the R8 in North east US. NY,, new hampshire, vermont,maine,pennsylvania etc etc. not looking to go to a city, dont like B and B. any suggestions? heres a couple of my favorite hotels for reference to what im looking for

Check out the "Trapp Family Lodge" in Stowe, VT. The Trapp Family, of course, were the "Sound of Music" people. After successfully escaping the Nazis, they toured the US and then settled on this Stowe farm. They entertained guests constantly and eventually the family farm grew into this fabulous resort hotel in the best Alpine style.

It's a spectacularly gorgeous spot with terrific sports possibilities. I have not been there in summer, only over the New Year holiday when the snow was deep and the skiing excellent. But I understand it's very nice in summer as well. Definitely a resort for the sports oriented/active vactioner, but the food and drinks are superb also.

And it's certainly the place to drive to in your R8 because they offer 20% off their regular rates if you arrive by Audi!! They proudly cite their "partnership" with AudiUSA. Not sure exactly why, but the Trapps are very much into everything Austrian. Audi, of course, is in Bavaria, but the Porsche/Piech family is originally Austrian and Piech is Chm. of the Board of VAG. So maybe they were tight with the von Trapps?
