The accident site was not too far from MVH,(a good trauma hospital), by chopper....stupid human tricks....

This video really unsettled me, as I was involved in something similar (but with a better outcome) just last week.

I was driving on I-75 in the far left lane at the rear of a line of cars in fairly heavy morning commuter traffic. The lane I was in was going just above 80 mph (pretty much the standard speed on that flat, straight stretch of road).

In my rearview mirror I saw a Toyota Camry approaching in my lane at a very high rate of speed (and with a piece of its front bumper flapping in the wind). The Camry settled onto my rear bumper at what appeared to be less than a car length away (at above 80 mph, mind you). After a short while, I had an opportunity to move over into the middle lane, hoping to get the two 20-somethings in the Toyota off my tail. Instead, they followed me into the center lane and again sat right off my bumper. (I guess they figured I was the car likely to break out of the clump of traffic first. Or they were just morons.)

I was seething at this point, and tapped my brake lights. They dropped back momentarily and then furiously accelerated right back onto my tail. Then they began to bob and weave left and right, as if they were going to get around me no matter what. (This was still in fairly heavy traffic, and I really had nowhere to go.) At this point, I began to fear they were drugged up or something and were going to try to get in front of me to cut me off. I decided that was not going to happen, and I began to block them from getting around me. (Probably not my best move, but I was so alarmed by their behavior that I didn't know what to do other than try to keep them behind me.)

Suddenly I could not see them in my rearview mirror, and I figured they had finally found an opening to pass. But then I noticed a puff of smoke, and the next thing I saw was the Toyota spinning across the grass embankment toward a high concrete wall that formed the perimeter of a gated community. I was about a half mile from my exit, so I got off to turn around and go back.

However, while I was waiting at a stoplight, these two jerks pulled up alongside me and began screaming at me for causing them to crash. The front end of their car was missing, and the airbags were hanging out of the steering wheel and dashboard.

I told them to get bent and drove away. For some reason, they decided not to follow me. I wondered for a few days if I was going to hear from an insurance company or someone . . . but radio silence.

I have a feeling they were going to have to come up with an explanation for mom and dad about what happened to the car, and they didn't want anyone asking me questions.

Buzzing the cop possibly to see if he could burn passed him without the officer being able to pursue, suicide, who knows? Definitely very odd.

The driver had been arrested about an hour earlier (shortly after 6:00 a.m.). He had been found parked with a juvenile girl in his car, with unopened alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the car. He was given a summons and released from custody 16 minutes before this crash.
