    Glutton For Punishment.

    Ok thought I would share..

I sold my 2009 GT-R a few weeks ago and whilst it produced great performance it cost a arm and a leg in servicing and maintenance costs.

Having it as a daily driver didn't help the cause as I clocked up 50,000k in 14 months which meant lots of services at the dealer along with track day use which chewed 5 sets of tyres at $3500 a set.

I wanted another performance car to sit alongside my R8 and looked at lots of others but kept coming back to the 2012 GT-R burning money Parasite.

I really thought when I sold my 2009 model I had released this money eating Vermin from my bank balance.. but today I went and actually placed real money to confirm my order for the new 2012 Model which I will get in March.

    Why oh Why???

    0- 60mph =2.9 secs or 0-100k = 3.0 secs

Its a good starting point and appears to be a absolute cracker.

Its what I love about buying performance cars..you try to justify some practical reason but in reality its just guilty pleasure or madness.

Cars are one of life's guilty pleasures and since it's your money, spend it any way that pleases you! Drive safely and enjoy!

    Gazza,

I truly had not seen this post before I PM'd you. Funny coincidence.

I spent next to nothing on my 2009 GT-R...but I only put on 8,000 miles in two years and no track time. I did two oil changes and the free yearly inspection, cost me less than my wife's GL320 CDI.

Congrats on the 2012, looks like a very nice upgrade to an already great car. What colour? Did you spring for the new blue pearl? The upgraded CF interior bits are a nice touch as well.

Yes Gazza, you are indeed a glutton for self-abuse!

I'm sure you were debating long and hard about doing this:

Or keeping your old GT-R. But you surprise me with getting the most severe punishment of all... a NEW GT-R!!!

If someone should ever feel that I am in need of some serious negative reinforcement, I would hate, above all else, to have a full track Zonda!

This is at one of the uk dealers. They do seem rather expensive to run in the uk. They have a bonnet lift in case you hit someone but they keep going off i.e snow landing on them or small knock. The first guy had a £11,000 bill after he touched a tow bar. There was a tiny mark on the bumper but the bonnet rams had gone off

    Not sure about the wheels

Tend to agree that they don't win any contest on beauty..but they do have a presence on the road.

I've got say that they have a fair presence on the track as well! I saw one blitzing everything else on an allcomers track meet at Knockhill. Including, sadly an R8 V8, but the driver looked gutless.

Are you going to manage over this way in 2011?
