good bye "old" new A8, welcome new A8

    Hello Guys,
i know haven't been around for quite some time....but the good thing is business run's like hell....the bad thing NO time.....anyway i will not promise but i try to be a little bit more present.

As I told you I have ordered a RS6 V10 Plus..etc, well I have received the car and aprart from the straight line performance .....Poor, very poor....the interior was 1:1 A6....yes with some better leather etc but still A6, as I used to have a S8V10 i was used to better quality....i have a performance car, my R8V10 so....end of the story I gave the car back in, after 230 KM....

And i bought a A8 4.2 TDI....the car was great but i missed some options ( my trailer hitch to pull the R8 to the track ) which could not be added to the A8....so i have ordered a new one....which arrived last week.

The old one is still in, SOLD already and paid by the new owner, but he has asked me if he could leave the car the my city parking spot.

I have added almost all the options

Congratulations on the new A8. You have all of the options known to man.

I drove the new A8 and loved it. The only thing I did not like was the downsized truck interior. Everything else is wonderful. They do not offer TDI in the US on the A8...yet. That is what I would order when they have it. Good luck with your WONDERFUL ride.

I thought so too in the beginning but the trunk is higher then the old A8...they had to shorten the trunk by request from the insurances ......yes....no bulls**t.
As on the old model all the racks with Sat Nav, TV Tuners , most of the computer systems etc have been in the left side of the rear fender, they got totally damaged in even lighter crashes....this is the reason they have placed them behind the rear seats.....and another reason is the huge amount of electronics ...night vision and all the other gadgets nobody needs, but they are nice to have.....

What a car, I guess you are intending on keeping this for a while!?

I have to agree that’s the boot is too small for such a large limo, I got picked up in this car from Frankfurt to take me to the R8 GT driving experience and I did feel very special, it’s just pure luxury, end of story!

Enjoy it to the max and don’t neglect the R8!

@ Colin....it is not as small as it looks....the it has more cubic liters then the old one....but i also prefer not to stack my clothing's or suitcases.

As we are only two adult household and only do weekend trips, if there is time and not to far, otherwise plane the size is good.

    @ Rich
the RS6 was quality wise poor...not that a A6 is not well made but not to compare to my old S8V10....yes more power ....on the straight line.....the first curve and the trouble started...and again it reminded me to much of my two 3.0 TDI Allroads....
The funny think is that the guy who bought my RS6V10 bought now my silver A8.....i wonder why......i told me he was so happy when the RS6 was sold.....
    greetings from Lugano
