He'll think twice before he does that again :-)

Just been out for a blat around the lanes around here. More horses than usual there's obviously a hunt on somewhere. I'm always very courteous when it comes to nag's slowing right down and waiting to be waved past. Came upon two of the feckless idiots and did just that. Anyhow as I slowly passed, the guy on the front horse, decked out in what can only be described as a "fancy dress" costume, shouted "f.cking knob" for no obvious reason... Not being one to take abuse for no reason, I stopped the car, got out, confronted him and asked him was the rudeness really necessary, as I had been considerate in waiting to be waved past. His answer was "I heard you revving miles away" ??? Open country lane, no junctions, no horses anywhere near, straight section, is there a law against that was my reply. He was obviously shocked that I'd stopped to question his attitude and asked me to get back in the car. This I did, strapped in, turned off ESP and gave it the beans no more that 10 yds in front of them (that's how slowly I passed them). His horse reared and the other one turned and bolted. Shouldn't really have done it but by christ I feel better for it!

I would have done exactly the same thing, fitted a Milltek system to my Cayman S this week, that would have done the trick too!

Think I would've done the same too, like you i'm generally good when slowing down for horses etc but there's always 1 apple that spoils it!

Be nice when I get my Milltek titanium system on for doing things like this!!

My mom has horses but some riders/owners are nice others take the utter ****.

I hate fox hunters anyway so I call the lads for a bit of a blast most of our cars are straight exhaust systems a friends Rx7 makes a boeing 747 sound quiet .

Cayenne GTS or my 200sx(includes flames) is what you need.

was that in your R8 spyder?

We have bicyclists in brightly colored Spandex to put up with instead of fox hunters (the savages!). Even though we have a bicycle path that covers the entire island, they prefer to ride on the street at 18 MPH and most of our streets are No Passing Zones so they are like a rolling roadblock. What a PITA!

    Them: 1 HP
    You: 525 HP

But I suppose an @sshole is an @sshole no matter what nationality nor country they may hail from. Even sometimes when you're being as courteous as possible for others, they just turn around and bite your hand. I can see where you are coming from - btw, the history of speed limits in UK makes for quite an interesting read.

That was what really gripped me, I'd waited to be waved past and the "Circus Master" then has the audacity to verbally abuse me for no reason. The Guy with me in the car was Mr rules and reg's (He's an electrician and can't help it ;-) ). He too was appalled by the outburst and surprisingly agreed with my retaliation, wrong as it may have been!

His attitude came from having to wear the costume.

His thought train as you rolled up: "Here I am on this smelly horse, dressed like I should be in a circus and here comes some guy in an R8, sounding like he's enjoying himself. I hate my life."

I'd be a d*ck if I had to wear one of those outfits too!

Kudos to you for being polite and waiting for them to wave you by. I try to do the same as often as possible. Ever notice people look at you funny when you sit there in this "fancy sports car" and wave someone across a walk way or through a parking lot area?

Then again, maybe people just look funny at me because I don't really fit the car. (I don't own a suit, tie, belt or horse riding apparel.)

I also applaud you for your final reaction. Screw 'em when you're trying to be nice and end up having to deal with a total knob.

Can you say "knob" on this forum? I was chastised for using the term cr*p. What exactly is a "knob" in British English? Same as a d*ick in the States?

    Knob is slang for:
    Peckerhead
    D*ck
    @sshole

In general, a degrading term for someone that deserves the label.

I guess you can say knob - the filter doesn't catch it!
