This sucks! Sebring 12 Hours with 7 hours to go..

First, #1 R15++ within the 1st hour gets 2 separate flat tires and is currently running #9 on its class. #2 R15++ (at #2 position) gets nipped by a Peugeot around 7+ hour of race and is taken out for a check up!! Really upset about this!

On interesting notes, HPD (Acura based) driven by the veteran Pagenaud that overtook #1 positioned Peugeot, this will get Honda fan's attention!
One commentator mentions along the line that he wasn't impressed by the Ferrari 458s in this race whilst the F430 and two other M3s are currently among the top of the GT class.

Whoa...forgot that it might be raining. I have enough fun near my home canyon in the wet. Waste of my time and money to do track time in the rain. Perfect weather here in Az.though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was indeed a very fun track day in Pahrump.There were 5 R8's today slicing up the track at Spring Mtn. Motorsport with the SoCal Audi Club.. Maybe a little cool for this time of year in southern Nevada ( hi 50's), but warm enough for the tires to work well. And the R8's hard working engines always enjoy drinking deep from that cool sweet high desert Spring air.



As far as coverage of the 12 HR of Sebring, yes, it's truly sucks that SPEED CHANNEL no longer carries this great race, nor any of the ALMS Series races this year. Added to this disappointment the ALMS series implemented new rules this year that all but removes the older Audi R15 race car from any chances for victory. Audi lovers must put their hopes with the wonderful new R18 race car in Europe to find its 2011 champion trophies. ( The new Audi R18 will not race in North America this year. Blame the USA's idiotic love affair with NASCAR).

In its tenth and last race, the (older model) Audi R15 TDI has to run with significantly reduced engine power due to the new technical regulations. Nevertheless, Frenchman Romain Dumas, in his first-ever qualifying session for Audi, was able to split the two new Peugeot 908 prototypes and to conquer an unexpected place on the front row of the grid for Audi Sport Team Joest with the "old" R15 TDI.

The Peugeot 908 won the race while the old Audi R15 finished 4th and 5th and several laps down..
