Lamborghini Cabrera Tipped to Replace Gallardo With 600-HP

Having just launched its new flagship Aventador suepercar, Lamborghini has reportedly already begun extensive work on the Gallardo successor.

Tipped to be named the Cabrera, the new ‘entry level’ Lambo will continue the tradition of V10 power and AWD of Lambo’s most successful model ever.

Power is expected to reach the 600-hp mark, with a serious focus on light weight components – although it’s not yet clear if the car will include a full carbon fiber chassis tub like the Sesto Elemento concept car (above).

With that power rating look for the car’s official title to be Lamborghini Cabrera LP600-4 when it arrives some time in 2012.

At first glance it just looks like a Gallardo with loads more sharp bits at the back and sides.

Whatever that is a picture of above, is quite ugly i.m.o.
I'd be concerned with brushing up against the car, and cutting my shins to pieces!

The good news is that likely the power restriction on the V10 may be lifted so it will have 560HP and the GT(2) will be bumped to 600HP.
Wishful thinking, maybe.

Why 2 fuel caps? It takes both petrol and diesel? Awesome

I think it is bit too sharp/pointy/angular but that is kind of what the Lambo look is. This may be too exaggerated in the newer models IMO and probably follows in the Reventón style. I suppose that is why I prefer the R8 over the Gallardo (for styling but also driveability) since the R8 has softer, curvy lines.

Hopefully the angles are designed to improve handling and efficiency,not just for a radical new look. The last model Gallardo nears perfection in my eyes. Not this one though.

The picture is of the Sesto Elemento which is a concept car that will get a very limited production run. For the most part, all of the info about the Gallardo replacement that is circulating around the web is dubious at best.
