Auto/RTronic RS4 Cab

Can I ask any of you guys who have contacts inside audi a question? Can you find out if and when audi are going to put an auto gearbox in the RS4 Cab? If they are, can you find out which box it will be (i.e the tiptronic which is in my wife's S4 Cab or perhaps even the RTronic as it is now developed for the R8). Any info would be much appreciated as my dealer has no idea and my wife is driving me nuts!!

All current RS4s are and will be available only as manuals till end of production life(January 2008).

As you can see new S5 is also available only as manual currently. Audi is working very hard on new 7speed S-Tronic(DSG), but this gearbox will not be ready before MY2009(autumn 2008) and this is earliest date possible.

R-Tronic is exclusive only for R8 models. This gearbox will not be in ANY other Audi model.

So, if you(or your wife) wants RS4 Cabrio manual is the only option. Or if other cabrio from Audi range are interesting for both of you there is TT roadster with S-Tronic gearbox...
