A8(L)ove affair!

Took my car in for first service today. They offered me a Q5, or a Q7 as a loaner. Figured it was a long shot, but threw it out there and asked if an A8 was possible. Service advisor came back after a few short minutes and asked, "would you like an A8, or A8L Sir?"
All the techs, and nearly the entire sales staff came out taking pictures of my car, and commenting that it was there favorite R8 to date! I took this as an absolute comment considering they are the second highest volume R8 dealer in Illinois, and must see quite a few in and out of the shop there.
So far, I love the service this dealer offers!

Back on topic....... I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!
All illumination and lighting is unbelievable!
Still can't understand why Audi does EVERY light in LED, EXCEPT license plate lights!!!!!!

Yeah Man! What's not to love? In my mind, my garage would have an R8 for me and a "guest", and an A8L for family or business outings. I don't think it would get much better.

Rich from OEM and I sat in one at his local dealership oohing and aahhing about all the little trick things in the car. They're amazingly nice machines.

Did the one you get to borrow by chance have the FLIR (forward looking infra-red) system? It's probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a car.

Agreed, I could get used to this, especially on long commutes.

Both Interior and exterior lighting are quite impressive. The LED headlights are way cool, and the interior lighting (soft glow led light strips) is nice as well. Not sure about the FLIR, but it does have 2 globe like crystal balls at each lower corner of front bumper. Thought they were fog lights, but they're not. So many gadgets. The frickin tweeters in the dash board even pop up like flying saucers when you start the car!

My problem with the A8 and A7 were how bulky and "slow" they felt compared to the R8 (duh) and S5. The Q5 is one porker enough!

I hope the tech trickles down into the Q5 this model year though, I'd love to upgrade.
