SEMA anyone?

I have the opportunity of going Nov 3, 2011. Don't know if a Audi R8 exhibit will be there though but could be through StaSiS....

Oh man, wish I had posted my info on getting my pass to SEMA and likely would've helped you out. They (SEMA) sent out an emailer in Sept 2011, offered a raffle-like survey and I won/was chosen as part of the opinion leader program. I had the option of naming someone to go with me but since my wife is not into cars there wasn't anyone else to choose from so I didn't put a "friend" on the extra badge.

If it's ok to get pictures at SEMA, then i will certainly take a lot and post some in this section.

As I understand it, SEMA is for the trade only. If, perhaps, you work closely with a local tuning company on your R8, they might some passes they can share with you. It is worth asking...

We finished the walk for today and report that the aftermarket industry is apparently doing well.

Spoke to many companies and obtained a few tidbits to share

APR is the exclusive user of Corsa exhaust and will be designing their new R8 system with a Corsa noise canceling design. If it works as well as Corsa claims it should have no drone and great flow.

I was informed by a British tuner at the Mustang booth that if you remove fuse 31 you can dyno the car in rear wheel drive. He appeared extremely knowledgeable although I have not tried it myself.

I learned of Andreas Brandt (sp), a tuner in Germany and formerly from Bosch motronic devision and apparently now tunes for MTM and others. Highly regarded in Europe and makes me happy as an MTM customer

Visited Supersprint and saw a cutaway of my muffler which is a full flow through unbaffled design packed with SS matt guaranteed not to burn out over its life.

The Akrapovic muffler was displayed on stand and looked like a work of art, and at its price it should.

Braille rep said that the 490L should be fine for weekend use without a trickle charger. I ordered one and should be installing it when I get home. Can share how it works if interested.

The bling was everywhere and it has its entertaining appeal as well

Apologies for the quality of the pics (taken with Iphone 4 by an amateur, at best haha). These were taken on Thursday Nov 3. I got tired walking evenutally after 3 hours and what with relatively uncomfortable shoes. Couldn't find another R8 amongst the many cars outside nor in the North and South Halls. The green Gitano auto, if I recall correctly, is made in the Philippines and the order cost for the body only is $45 grand. I also managed to get a free t-shirt
