Exclamation A smidgeon of what I"m going through.

Time to spill 'da beans finally/formally. Took delivery of the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang Laguna Seca edition. Out of Mac Hail Ford in Houston. Monday will get trackey enabled. (hopefully) This car could be a serious threat to my R8 memories See www.trackey.ford.com for a peek into my new world. ALL mods come straight from the factory -- except for slicks, K&N air cleaner, and Rousch grill. I did not buy this car for its' looks/paint job. I purchased for other reasons completely---PERFORMANCE and HANDLING. (although the retro paint scheme is finally OK with me). I guess I trust most everything I see on the internet, and purchased with-out ever seeing one in the flesh. I am blown away - and lap-times will tell all. I did uncork the side pipes,(was like chipping), need to install front super large splitter, brake duct system, and transmission cooling scoop. Much less cost, but just as fun. You could say the R8 is a Lear jet with all the bells and whistles, and the LS is an early fighter jet, but still a daily driver.

Wow! How do you drive that thing without trailing a line of police cars behind you?

Harrison..I am sure you will have a blast.

A lot of car for the money with a track focus.

Just beware of your mods and the fun police with Ford.

Subtle, Mr H. Does it come with a confederate flag on the roof ?? And bang goes any hope of making a stealth trip downtown.

And do we have any doubt which key will get the most use, Harrison?

If I read that correctly, they're claiming 444 hp with the "stock" key, but I didn't see a figure for the "track" key. Are they publishing any numbers? Or has anyone dyno'd one yet to compare the two "keys"?

Very nice and tidy way to handle "chip tuning" for sure!!

It sounds like the "track" profile is already in the car and the dealer just installs the module to turn it on. Correct?

Does the "track" key unlock anything besides engine mgt. mods? (traction, stability, steering or suspension changes?)

Now if they could just get the performance key to change you over to track tires, you really would have something

Have fun with that Bad Boy!!

PS: What ever became of your nice "pre-A" 356? Do you still have her?

Thumbs up Re: A smidgeon of what I"m going through.

The '53 is gone. It could never be a concourso, again... Traction and electronic steering ARE affected by trackey. Stability/suspension set by a screw at each corner. Setting #2 for trip to the track, setting # 5 for the track, then #1 for the ride home. Tomorrow, if it's not raining , I go get activated, heck... might go, even in the rain. The R8 is a FAR SUPERIOR RAIN CAR !! I haven't been pulled over yet...but a cute police lady cruised by the house minutes after I got home. After trackey warranty(36k) runs out the regular key still gets regular warranty.(60K)

Very cool car and tremendous bang for the buck. A Ford dealer friend of mine has the Boss 302 Mustang Laguna Seca edition and he just joined my track, although he won't get it there until next season. I am anxious to see his lap times.

Congrats Harrison. Am also a fan of Mustangs, especially the Boss. Have fun on the track.
