    Silly Question

This may seem like a silly question - but how often does one have to clean the engine bay? I never had a engine bay in a car before, actually this is my first sports car (drive an Audi A6 4.2 right now) - i expect to get it in October of this year. I ordered CF covers for engine. I live in Houston - it does rain here, and is humid.

    Re: Silly Question

Mine isn't really getting that dirty to be honest, I think the fact it needs the main plastics (mine isn't cf) going over every time its washed to dry them is keeping it generally clean. The cf engine bay interior will make it a lot easier to keep clean.

    Re: Silly Question

I've driven a little over 8,000 km (5,000 miles) in 2 months and the bay was starting to get dusty.

I hosed down the dust with water and cleaned up things generally with a microfiber cloth and it looks fine again. About 10 minutes work.

    Re: Silly Question

Mine's not CF either. I wouldn't hose it down rather a quick wipe with a damp cloth every couple of months and it still looks like new.
