    Driver's leather seat care

    Hi guys,

I noticed that in many, if not all R8s, the most abused leather area of the seat is the bottom left side wall, image attached marking the area I mean.

In my car the seats leather is in perfect condition, but it can be clearly seen that this area gets significantly more wear. I'd like to try and keep it as nice as it can be going forward.

It could have something to do with how I get into the driver's seat. I noticed that I get in much smoother in the passenger's seat as there's no wheel in between, I'm able to sit in in a much less abusive (to the seat) manner.

Maybe I just haven't yet developed the right technique of sitting in.

How do you guys take care of it? how does it look in your cars? how do you sit yourselves in?

    Thanks

Thanks for pointing me to the thread, but there appears to be no real solution there other than get into the car very, very carefully.

If you're a bigger guy, even more of a problem.

This is a problem I found with most R8's when I was searching for mine.

The side bolster gets the most abuse rather than the base though.

Plenty of leather care products to keep them looking fresher though.

Try liquid leather, its superb for bring the leather back up to near new condition.

Do we have any equivalent products in the USA that give off the fine smell of English Leather?

While on the Audi factory tour i picked up the audi leather cleaning kit which also includes the leather cream, that stuff is great and does smell of leather, having white seats i use it about once a month to get stains off ( denim ) and then treat with the cream, seats look like new once done and smell good too, speak to your Audi dealer, will post the product code when i get into my garage later.
