Question Mothers to start and who to finish??

Just clay barred some contaminants right off. Followed Mothers Cal. Gold instructions. A sealer and then a wax to follow. (maybe a cleaner/wax cream, most likely Mothers FX Synwax, Carnauba cleaner wax, or Petes' '53 Black Pearl ?). Decisions, dec's. , dec's. Could try diff. products on lower sections for comparison and evaluation. NO Clear bra coverings on this ride. Just good 'ol clearcoat. Anybody try Chemical bro.s' jetSeal109, and Petes'53 Black Pearl Crystal Polymer White Carnauba Paste Wax? (On their Jet blue paint?) Been using Meguire's pro choice Last Touch detailer between details and washes.

Harrisson, since I got my car, I started to look into "detailing" more closely. In short, I really did not know how to wash a car properly and did not even know how many treatments and products existed ! Removing contaminents with a claybar was not something I even knew... I am not a pro yet, but I can tell you that my car became cleaner and glossier than when I got it from the dealer... FYI, it is polish THEN sealent (and not the other way round) ! Google the detailing forums and you'll learn a lot, purchase dozens of chemicals and useful accessories and your car shape will be back as the first day you got it...!

Make sure your wax does not have cleaners in it, it will just remove the sealer.

    2X a year I:
    1. wash with a dish detergent to remove all product.
    2. clay the car top to bottom. ( claying will also remove product )
    3. polish the paint with Menzerna final polish II ( Intensive polish if swirled )
    4. polish with Klasse all in one sealant
    5. seal with Wolfgang deep gloss
    6. wax with Poorboy's Natty Blue
    7. Maintain between by washing and using Poorboy's QW detail spray.

My Bad. A cleaner wax would surely remove some of the sealer.(maybe all of it?) Personally I have yet to try any sealers. I'm pretty sure my detailer used a sealer. I will call him to confirm. I can say my paint does look good as new. Maybe better.

Of course, I dont have my R 8 yet, but I intend to use what I have used on my last few cars.. Zaino. Amazing stuff! Polymer. A couple years back, I had 30 coats of Z2 on my Miata... the wettest gloss ever...

Its super easy to use as well ... Use the catalyst and I could do 3 coats a day.. wipes on, wipes off. no buffing, anything. Truely amazing stuff!
