Search on this one - this topic's been brought up quite a few times and there's a lot of good info on more than a couple products.
yes, I hate the "search it" answer too...

I have it on the entire front end. Full hood, front fenders and front bumper. If done right with the right product, I feel it's a great investment.

I have the 3M product on all leading edges including the sideblade and on a silver car, it's very hard to tell that it's there. I'm very happy with it. If you decide to go with it, you need a great installer.

Thank you for all your feedback!
Have it done right if you're going to do it. Have the wrong guy do it and he'll F it up...speaking from experience here. Since you're in Irvine, call Premier. They do all my cars. www.premiermobilegroup.com - very happy customer here w /no affiliation.

Does the invisible bra interfere with the wax's gloss?
Thanks 09R8 - I'll check out premier!
Yes, there is a little bit of orange peel in all of the materials. Some materials have less than others. Also, the color of the car makes a difference in how visible the texture will be.
On my Ibis White it is all but invisible. On my grey cars you can see a little orange peel. Since our cars are driven hard, the paint protection is well worth it. If your car is a showpiece and only comes out on nice days, then you will be happier with traditional paint maintenance and protection (i.e., wax and a good detailer).
The good news is that today's materials are better than ever. This is where a quality installer makes a big difference. The film is stretched into place, and the application technique greatly influences the appearance and durability of the final result.
I will, again, second the recommendation for Premier in OC and NorCal. They have done three of my cars since I started using them and the results are excellent. Much better than my previous experiences.
