hydrogen requires a network of fuel stations - electric can be charged via domestic charging units plus there's already an electricity distribution network in place that can be tapped in to outside of the home too.

Makes good sense..electric it is.. especially if they have wireless recharging as your driving

Totally agree but would not Hydrogen engines be of more potential long term..Such as the FCX Clarity or...

How about micro nuclear charged performance cars that run with self sufficient reactors with recycle waste recovery power.

Then have them available with optional ROD injection similar to nitro

Hydrogen also requires more energy to make and store than it currently produces if I've understood correctly.

Nuclear... don't know if I'd want a bunch of those running around in the hands of the drivers I see on the road daily.

at present, the best mix for range looks to be electric with a petrol/diesel engine as back up generator (not connected to the wheels). there's a lot of talk about using turbines for this rather than piston engines given they can run at a fixed rpm when just generating electricity. What's particularly interesting about turbines is they can be run on a wide variety of fuels including non-fossil so could just fill up with whatever is available at the time.

I am still interested in a BioDeisel version R8 just to carry us over 'till the electrics get going really well. The range and savings of running BioDeisel can be up there... Probably Not a good idea to have the Spyder version in deisel though (cough, Cough).

the big problem with a diesel powerful enough to warrant inclusion in an r8, is the sheer weight of the engine and the effect it'd have on the handling.
