2011 Audi R8 GT Priced At $198,000

Audi's upcoming R8 GT will go on sale next summer for the low, low price of $198,000, including destination charges. With a 560 horsepower V10 derived from the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and an automated manual transmission, the R8 GT will be the most hardcore R8 offered, but only 111 of the 333 units will make it to North America.

North American models won’t be getting the best options, like fixed back racing seats, roll cage, fire extinguisher, and a kill switch. The rest of the world gets to enjoy these race-ready modifications thanks to their lack of nanny-state vehicle regulations like side airbag laws. Who needs those anyways?

Not bad. Better than the $220-230k we were expecting. Add the market adjustment of 50k to that though...

That is what the "aftermarket" is for... we've got most of these items already in the queue for pricing and distribution.

This does not sit well with me that the"nanny is watching" - i just got my build in Houston and want the additional features - actually i am curious on the available options to make this a well heeled track car! I may just take my 09 v8 and make this a track car. Has anybody on here actually ordered a GT yet? I submitted order today with only a few key options like ceramic brakes.

I just posted the order guide I received from my dealer in another thread, but here it is again. I am supposed to order this week and collect in four months.... Tough choices ahead.

Cavaret - thanks for the response - we need to go do some hill country extreme! I just got the GT manual tonight and had the build submitted with a request to get more detail on all options (other than ceramics as these are needed) - i will update full detail as i get it this week.
