Re: Genuine R8 iPhone 3G/S Cradle OEM

My TT has the receptacle for the cradle. IMO it takes up valuable space in the console which would be much better used for a storage compartment. WIllyJP, in my opinion you are not missing anything by not having it.

HOWEVER, if you do have the cradle option in your car from the factory, LL's adapter for the iPhone is just what you need to put it to use.

As this SALES thread is now comprehensively TRASHED I will close it and start another.

Kindly stay out of the new SALES thread unless you want to buy a cradle

FWIW the cradle makes a MASSIVE difference to the performance of the phone in a poor to medium signal area. It not only connects the cars external cellular antenna but does so via a booster.

LL: well, I have to offer sincere apologies for that hijack....but it WAS of entirely thread oriented intent in that, having heard of this cradle thing, I was trying to find out if, as a US R8 owner, I'd be a potential customer for it.

But of course, I'm sure you'll sell it to someone much closer-by and I should have kept my mouth shut.....especially since, after all that, I never really did find out whether such cradles can be used on a US car!!! Shows you the nature of R8 Talk....if you get some hard information, consider yourself lucky

But again, I DO apologize for the unintended consequence!

Sorry, figured it would be helpful to let people know what option codes people need to fit the cradle since it seems some people have the cradle and it doesn't fit or they can't use it.

    Good luck with sale,

Thanks Willy. My outburst wasn't specificaly directed at you.

    I need to apologise too.

I had a bad start to the day and over reacted about a number of things that I shouldn't have. Sorry.

I'll have a new (better) day tomorrow :-)
    Regards, Graham.
