I have a friend in Houston Tx looking to sell a 2010 Audi R8 V-10, Rtronic, CF sideblade, $169,150. Here in the U.S., a rebuilt title usually means the car was in a pretty bad accident or has had considerable flood damage. To the point where the insurance company feels it really can't be brought back to the original condition it was once in.

Never heard it called that..."Rebuilt", makes sense though. Around here we call it a "salvaged title". Saying salvaged on the title usually brings the value of the selling price waay down. BUT if you found a salvaged car that was repaired properly, and if you planned on keeping the salvage without selling it, you could be a happy camper. A real money saver.

If Audi like most mfg, the warranty on the car is no longer valid. DMV probably notified Audi about salvage title.

Hey guys, sorry about the late response. The car was at the dealership and during a test drive a customer lost control of the car and hit a stop sign and a curb. The damages were a total of $6k to replace everything new with all reciepts to accompany the vehicle. The reason the car was issued a salvage title was because it was on the lots commercial policy which won't allow the dealer to sell it without depreciating the value so the dealer was then able to have the car paid off by the insurance company. Would have been difficult to get sticker value on a car that had been in a prior accident. I also have the photo's of the car in damged form but do not know how to post them. The hood had some light damage but was replaced as well as the bumper, and radiator and left headlight. There was no frame, airbag deployment or suspension damage. I can email the pre repair photo's to anyone that would like them! Thanks

The car was also repaired by a bodyshop that lamborghini's of houston uses to repair thier cars. He has also repaired several high end automobiles of mine as well.

Here in Illinois, we have both salvaged and rebuilt titles.

Due to the nature of the way this car got the salvaged title, I would be surprised if it did not retain the original warranty. But yes, most likely DMV would be notified.

Actually the window sticker was $169,150, and I will check in the morning and see if the warranty is still active.
