Want to buy an R8 but need to Sell my 2005 Lotus Elise only 3,400 miles - $31,900

    Greetings,

I have been researching r8s here and have been seriously looking at several r8s. But my Lotus needs to move first. I have lots of interest but too many people want to pay "wholesale". Can blame them wanting a good deal...but it is not good for me!

If you know of any one who has been looking for or would be interested in a Lotus Elise, this is a pristine car:

I recently sold a Lotus Elise, and so perhaps I know a little about the market.

In my opinion, you are asking too much. You probably won't get offers near that. I would ask no more than 30k (e.g., $29,900) and, if you are fortunate, expect to sell it for 27-28k. Even then, you should probably expect it to be on the market for some time. To move it more quickly, you should probably price it lower (e.g., 27-28k) and be looking for 27k or less.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the good input.

Here's my research. I have talked with many dealers who have advised me to expect $31 at retail as a resonable price. Several dealers are giving me $28.5-29.5 site unseen. You are right, it will take the right person...and a person who appreciates the value of this car...its basically new.

    Best,

    Jeff

A car is only worth what someone will pay for it, and as you have been finding, they ain't paying $32k.

Um, and I see you are "considering offers over 30k" over on Lotus Talk as of a few weeks ago (with no responses), but want 32k here?

I guess we must look like suckers. Well, best of luck.

Whats with the attitude? No one is a sucker. I simple copied an ad. Sorry. I am getting a lot of responses from other sources.

CONSIDERING OFFERS OVER $30k. So now the same as lotus talk. Posting corrected.

With exotic cars prices do very. I am seeing $15k spread on the simliar r8s.

    I am patient.

    Thanks for the input.
