Need stock R8 V10 exhaust, to modify and test.

I am looking for a stock R8 V10 take off for an experiment. Preferably in the USA as I would have the work done in the USA.

I will be cutting it open and replacing the internal catalytic's with straight pipe.

I will then do before and after dyno runs and measure sound levels and post results.

I have a V-10 factory exhaust with about 500 miles on it. It was replaced with a Stasis exhaust. How much are you willing to pay?

As this will be used as a test unit to see if there is power to be gained by removing the catalytics and also not get a drone. I am hoping to obtain one at the best price possible. I will be incurring the cost of having a specialty shop open the muffler and perform the work. After which I will perform a comparison dyno test and volume test.

If it works and we pick up 10-15HP and no drone and valves that work and acceptable volume we have one more option. My stock unit could be the next modified unit, or.

This could be a waste of time and money if it doesn't work out.

I will post all results.

Youre going to have ECM issues doing this, FYI. You'll need someone who can modify the PCM to be able to accomplish this.

Why would the ECM be affected the two cats in the exhaust have no sensors. The primary cats have the sensors.

I think LAT is correct. The cats he is looking to remove are inside the muffler and have no sensors. I've attached an image of the exhaust system with the pertinent parts labeled.

Are the V8 and V10 exhausts interchangeable?? Warning...this is not a hijaak ! Great pic Desparado, now I know exactly what is meant by cat-back (Primary back)

If at all possible, take pix of each aspect of the changes for:
a) Ability to explain exactly what you're doing
2) The visual aspect of being able to explain
III) The nicety of having a little "build log".

Step by step photos just share so much more than "we did this, this and this".

Have you done your base dyno run yet? - when you do, please post the results in the Dyno thread along with this thread. (trying to keep as much similar info in one spot as possible)

I have a base run which is posted here however I find it frustrating on this forum to post pictures because the files have to be so small, 19KB and 620*280. Other forum groups I participate in will take 150KB and 1024*1024. This sites desire to stay with such a small print is difficult to understand.

The tuner choice.
