Wanted: UK Ibis white R tronic with carbon sideblades and all options

V8 Wanted

I thought I had found the (near) ideal vehicle from a dealership in Manchester who I called today only to be advised that a deposit had already been placed on the vehicle by another buyer so I am back on the trail.

This does, however allow me to find the exact vehicle I want whereas the aforementioned vehicle had titanium wheels which are not to my liking on an Ibis White R8 plus it was missing a couple of options. I've lodged my request with the dealer who will contact me if something comes up.

So, here is my wish list (I know, it sounds like I am speccing a factory model). Essentially I am looking for a fully loaded ibis white with carbon side blades.

That’s great news Andy, V8 or V10? Did you go with one of the suppliers we discussed?

Does this mean you are now attending the Alps road trip?

On Saturday I sent an email to every UK Audi dealer I could find to ask them to contact me if they had an Ibis White V8 or V10 available immediately as I did not want to wait and join the order list. I arrived in the office this morning to find a voicemail from one of the Audi dealers (despite providing my mobile number for evening and weekend calls) in which I was told that they have an ibis white V8 R Tronic. I called the dealer back and politely requested he email me the full specification.

During the course of the day I received a few other calls and emails from other Audi dealers, none of them had a vehicle for me but advised that they would let me know if something comes along.

'My' dealer was out of the office for most of the day but still managed to respond to my emails and at approx. 4.30pm I placed my deposit after we had negotiated the deal.

Sadly I am on hols to NYC and Amsterdam in June otherwise I would have loved to have joined the trip to the Alps. It would be an opportunity perhaps to visit some of the best Ruropean roads as featured in the Top Gear tv show. In September '09 we drove down to Menton, France and I had intended to visit some of the roads featured but we were rather far away and time did not allow.

I am very much looking forward to flying over to collect the R8 and driving it down to catch the ferry back home estimated to be in late February.

Colin, I would appreciate if if you could clarify whether the Milltek exhaust is endorsed by Audi/RS Quattro themselves and are therefore allowable under the warranty scheme?

Well Andy, I got my quote for the V10 exhaust from the dedicated dealer in my area, he also quoted for fitting, however, I then contacted my Audi dealer and spoke to the sales director, asked his opinion about the Milltek exhaust, he advised they had fitted Milltek prior (but not in an R8) he recommended that they fit the exhaust so as not to cause any warranty problems with Audi, the hourly rate is nearly double that of the Milltek agent but i think its worth it, I would check with your dealer to see what they say but mine seems cool about it as long as they install.
