Are you looking anywhere in Canada? Did you check all provinces on Auto Trader (I know Ontario alone has 13 various R8s for sale). Also, did you consider buying in the US and importing?

US version does not have the correct front bumper. Not entirely sure, but I think that is a requirement...

Canada harmonized its bumper laws last year in regards to importing vehicles from the US and Europe, I just checked the admission list and the R8 is good for import (just need to have the DRL activated)

yeah, there were many folks that celebrated that change. There are still other things that can make a car inadmissable though, such as restraint type, lack of tether anchor, no immobilizer (on later models), inability to activate DRLs. The best spot to check out what is good and not is the registrar of imports (www.riv.ca)

On front facing car seats a tether is required in Canada ( a strap that ties the top of the car seat to the vehicle so the seat doesn't tip forward in an accident) not all cars built for non-Canadian markets have the attachment point and because it is a safety feature, it is not something the government allows to be retrofitted so if it's not put on a particular model at the factory, the car is inadmissable

FWIW - R8 has the tether on all US cars...
