I'm ready to make the transition from mere aficionado to owner. If you are or know of a U. S. dealer who has an available build spot for an R8 4.2, please send me a private message. (I'd prefer to buy a vehicle in current inventory, but I haven't been able to locate one with the desired specs.)

I'm willing to give my business to any U. S. dealer, but I'll give preference to those who are most eager to get it, can deliver a car the soonest, and are in the western half of the country.

You may be best to contact someone on the R8 team at Audi of America and ask them to look up the vehicles for you?

I did this here in the UK and the guy could tell me right away which dealers were due to receive a vehicle to my spec. This meant I didn't have to do much donkey work myself at all.

Thanks for the tip! The donkey work I've been doing so far hasn't yielded much in the way of results.
