Thumbs up Re: R8 Carbon Fiber Mirrors

Hey Outsider! Heard you took your R8 to the Drag strip and did very well. Congrats. Beware of some crummy carbon out there .The other day I was looking at a tricked out Phantom black R 8 with C.F.sideblades. The blades looked terrible. They sure weren't an Audi product!! They were WAVEY like a lake with a slight breeze!! Rest of car was absolutely awesome. His wing was set for minimum down force though. Audis' carbon is second to none,so I would want their C.F. mirrors if needed. There are some nice mirror Pods that look very nice too !!

Yeah, I've seen CF go bad over time (and heat) first hand. Not sexy at all. Have you tracked your R8 yet?

We are still here! It's just been really busy and we haven't had much time to post. We have been leaders in the carbon game for about 5 years now, and our products are gauranteed to pass the test of time.

Here is a pic of an R8 wheel that we just shipped out to a customer. This wheel is done in Alcantara with ca carbon top, carbon middle, and carbon bottom section.

Thanks for the compliments! We try and make installation guides for every product, but sometimes it's hard because we don't personally own every car we make our products for.

Thanks for the info... Got them fitted at last courtsey of Lake District Audi (Hadwins), Brilliant R8 dealer who are genuinely interested in their product.
However, the tops of the mirrors have began to blister / crack, not significant, only about 1-2mm in a couple or three places on each. Does anyone think this is a common issue with non-genuine CF parts????

Just So everyone knows...THESE WERE NOT OUR CARBON MIRRORS!!!

Blistering, cracking, yellowing, or cloudiness can happen for several reasons. The porsche 996 factory carbon is known for cracking and turning yellow, and now the Porsche 997 factory carbon is turning yellow and getting cloudy. We have built our good reputation for making carbon pieces that hold up and look just as good as when new when they are several years old. We have built our businessw by replacing bad factory carbon with our parts that stand the test of time.

Audi doesn't do there own carbon work and neither does porsche...They outsource it to the cheapest bidder. At MAcarbon we make the best carbon parts and we fully gaurantee all of our parts.
