Retrofit: V10 Clutch & Pressure Plate

We have been hearing rumblings that aggressive V8 drivers that blow their clutches are being recommended to switch to the V10 version at the dealer.

With that in mind, we wanted to offer them as a retrofit for other V8 customers either worried about their units going out or intentionally wanting a bit more protection with their SC or flash upgrades.

We are offering them here and will order as needed for now. If the demand is strong, we'll stock them for same-day shipping.

    Thoughts? Feedback?

Hey Rich, somewhat related, but how's the R-Tronic holding up to the SC? Too early to tell? I guess it's the same box that's in the V10 so it should be able to handle the power with no problem right?

Different trans, but yes it can handle it w/o any issues. We spoke to a test-driver for Audi and he assured us (with a wink) that the stock R8 tranny could take a LOT of abuse...

As a follow-up, we will be installing this retrofit here on one of our local customers. Will provide additional feedback and insight when completed.

Re: Retrofit: V10 Clutch & Pressure Plate

Installation of the V10 clutch is completed and I would call it a success! The engage/disengage is a little heavier than the V8 due to the stronger springs, but the bite is nice and strong.

To follow up on AnOutsider's question, we have seen some good miles on R-Tronic systems with both SC and TT kits. Both of them are showing no overt wear or deterioration.
