Having recently worked with Capristo US on some RS4 exhausts it had been mentioned that the R8 exhaust was not widely known about in the US. Capristo is well known worldwide for their Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche exhausts, however the several exhausts they make for the Audi market are not well known in North America it would seem. So without further adieu the Capristo R8 V8 exhaust system:

You can hear the valving system is evident in this video made by Capristo in Germany. Too bad these subtle details on the standoff are hidden away, but the attention to detail is second to none:

Hand built in Germany from polished 309 stainless steel this exhaust is extremely well built. This is the only system with programmable valving for the R8 so you can control the sound of your R8 on demand. The system is developed to align maximum performance (5-7bhp, 15tq), reliability (warrantied) and design. It can be driven in cruise, sport or open mode (race mode) to suit your tastes or mood at the time. The opening and closing points of cruise and sport mode are programmable via the remote control buttons and the system is able to determine points to changeover using back pressure of the exhaust for optimal valve changeovers.

I have a question. The video is labeled V10 and at the end it shows a V10 engine. The exhaust has four pipes and looks like the V8 R8. Is my computer monitor so small I cannot see the V10 single pipe on each side or is this a V8 exhaust?

That system you see in the video is the R8 V10 exhaust. The stock exhaust is also quad pipe since it has one valved pipe per side and one pipe that is always open. The single oval tip per side actually bolt to the bumper cover and not the exhaust pipes. If you have seen aftermarket exhausts that are only one pipe per side that is because they are eliminating the valving system entirely.

You'll notice any other valved system for the V10 models will also be quad pipe, while non-valved will likely be single pipe per side. Hope that clears that up for you.

Okay, thanks Alexander. I will email you when I'm ready to get it. I've been debating between this exhaust and the TUBI. How much is the TUBI? They make one with and without valves right? What are the prices on these? Also, how long do either exhaust take to order? Let me know, thanks!

I do not have access to the Tubi exhausts, sorry.

Capristo is in stock with their US distributor and would take a day or two to ship, then it's just transit time across the US. You would likely see the exhaust in about 6-7 business days.
