2010 R8 V8 Supercharger installation in FL

C2 Design in Tampa Florida is now a VF-Engineering trained R8 supercharger installer. Their technicians are already highly versed in the activity of modifying (FI and aesthetics) high end exotics and German autobahn monsters.

Their facility reflects the meticulous nature of the owner Chris Chapas. Featuring stainless steel lined accented walls and furniture in an immaculate workshop clean enough to live in, the C2D approach sets a high standard.

They recently took delivery of a new 2010 R8 for a nameless client, to build with a complete package of performance and aesthetic upgrades.



Chris recently contacted us to discuss the merits of our system and made the decision to install a VF kit based on his comfort level after talking to other VF R8 kit owners and his positive first hand experience with GIAC software that he has used on Porsche Turbos and Audis.

The techs were eager to start their installation and will probably post up pictures below. Here is the C2D mascot - with a white coat to match the R8. His name is "Bug" - what a character he is!

So Nik, do we now get a matching colored dog to go with our R8 if we get a new VF supercharger? My "DYNO" dog is getting worn out!

Hi guys....though I'd introduce myself and our R8 project. We're going pretty far with this one for one of our very good customers. It will have a Prior Design body kit custom done in CF(just clearing Customs today!), very unique custom multi-piece wheels, obviously the blower, suspension, exhaust, radar, clear bra, V10 side blades, full MA Carbon interior....the works. We chose the VF supercharger package after reviewing all the power-adder choices out there. This car is going to be delivered out of state to a customer....it needs to be perfect and trouble free once it leaves. Nik assured me that it will(at least in regards to his product) and after my first talk with Nik on the phone, I knew that we were going to be installing a well thought out and engineered system. After the install and test drive(s), I have no doubt in my mind that this car will make our customer very happy and that's the name of the game.

I'll continue to post up pics as we keep going with the car....as of today, we're waiting on the interior pieces to show up....we'll install those while the body kit is being painted....should be a very fun build!

Good thanks. Harry, very few of our R8 supercharger clients are on the forums unfortunately.

Back on topic, with the sytling and other upgrades planned this should be an interesting thread. More pics of the build..

Comments from UK install of VF Supercharger:
Guys, I had mine done two weeks ago, Nik came over to supervise APS Brackley's install and did a great job getting everything in place and operating smoothly before he left. I was in the USA for two weeks and just arrived back yesterday to pick up the car. I drove about 100 miles home yesterday and all was very smooth and feisty quick when you put your foot down. This morning I got up early to drive up to Peterborough to have my Paintshield clear bra redone (warranty) and drove another 95 or so miles. Again, all smooth and yet nice and quick when you want it.

Perhaps some better comments will come from me over the next 2-3 weeks as I have a driver training event planned at the Millbrook proving ground next weekend with Roadcraft UK and a track day planned at Spa Francorchamp in Belgium. The Proving ground is interesting in that they have a 2 mile banked oval high speed track that I will take her out on, not many of those around the world I don't think. They also run a number of other courses. So, I'll give you my handling and high speed comments after that.

At Spa the R8 will be up against some 50 - 60 other cars including a bunch of Porsche GT3's, Nissan GTR's etc. Those of you that know Spa know its reputation as one of the top race tracks in the world with a track over 4 miles long and famous, difficult corners such as Eau Rouge. I'll report back on how the VF equipped R8 does there too. But so far, it seems a very smoothly integrated power booster to a great car.
