wheel valve stem sizes

Hi Guys.

Might sound like a bit of a daft question but I'm changing my wheels and need new valves but when I went to purchase them I was offered various sizes, 43mm, 48mm, 49mm and 51mm. Does it really make any difference to what size I actually buy? And finally does anyone know what the standard size is?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're talking about the stem that the TPMS sensor bolts on to? The one you need is the "black" one. I believe it's the 43mm.

The color is found on the round end that the TPMS module bolts to - they are all color coded red, black, copper and natural. Regardless, the 43mm should work.

Valve stems ordered!! The black ones were actually showing as 49mm but I still went for the 43mm as you advised. Can't believe the price difference between indie's and the dealers. Even with shipping from the US to UK it was still less than half the price I would of paid here
