Brake rotors

I have a 2009 V8 6MT R8 and I was wondering if anyone has had problems with their brake rotors. I have noticed a lot of binding issues.If the car is parked overnight, the 1st time I move it the brakes bind and pop as if they froze to the pads. Recently, I have just started noticing a "ticking" sound on the passenger side when I apply the brakes lightly. If I apply greater pressure the sound stops. I don't feel a shudder thru the steering wheel or brake pedal. I have never tracked the car.....

Always had the same problem when I parked in the garage with wet rotors from rain or washing the car.

Made a horrible pop when the pad released but never had the ticking noise.

I never park the car in the garage now(regardless)with the handbrake on and problem has never reappeared.

The pop is the brake pads rusting (very, very lightly) to the pads. There's usually quite a bit of moisture in the air when this happens. And/or the rotors are fairly cold when you set the brake. It's a non-issue, just an occasionally annoyance.

The ticking sound is normal. It has to do with the holes in the rotors moving past the pads. From what you describe, all is good.

Thanks..... I have a service scheduled next month and will bring it up with the R8 mechanic just to make sure all is well

I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago. I would get your pads checked as the sticking pads led to delamination of the pad surface on all pads, I guess at the point of freeing up the brakes. My pads were replaced f.o.c.

I drove home from a track day with the OEM pads COMPLETELY GONE.The sensors weren't working or the TPMS warning was overriding the brakes alert.I will try to get a free set of pads too !!! I will take the "down to metal pads" and slam them down on the counter. I am a bit peeved about that. I had to drive home slowly.
