20 inch HRE Wheel on 09 R8

New on this site, but can someone help me with this question. I have an S5 with 20 x 10 inch wheels on all fours. Tires are all 275/30/20. I am selling the S5 and was wondering if the wheels would fit on the 2009 R8.

If that does fit, can I lower the car also? I read on the H&R website that the springs lower the car .6 and 1.25. That looks pretty steep for this car. Especially in the rear.

Last question. Anyone use AWE exhaust?

Nope, the wheels won't fit. The R8 has staggered fitment, and the offsets are different too. Take a look at the tire and wheel knowledge-base article in the OEMPlus forum: Knowledge Base: Wheels & Tires

That sucks! I think I will go for 20x9, 20x11. Does anyone recommend tire size? Also, using the H&R springs be ok without rubbing?

Do NOT put 20's on your R8. It's a big mistake: Been there, done that and have had despised it. I put 19's back on the car for winter and it changed the entire personality of the car - for the better.

i am an s5 owner as well with full AWE exhaust, im pretty sure they do not make one. Got stasis exhaust and ECU on the V10 instead.

Agree, Will never understand why people want to mess with such a perfectly engineered car, I'm sure Audi put a lot of time and work coming up with this set up. I bring my car to a lot of shows and thing I always hear is I should lower it and put 20" wheels, and it's usually from some young kid driving a Civic, VW ....

Which design of the HREs are you looking at?

I have HRE 891R Matte Black wheels on my S5 and just sold the S5 and wanted to put them on the R8, but it doesn't fit....Now I think I am going to get the ADV1 the twin 5 spoke forged wheels.... I wanted 20 inch wheels and lower it, but I don't know why everyone is against.
