    Lug nut torque

Yesterday I installed a set of the new Michelin Super sports on my 2008 R8 - V8. This being my first tire change since owning the car the installer [Duponts Auto in NH] asked me if I knew the torque setting[s] for the wheel lug nuts? Not knowing the answer we called Audi who told us that the setting should be 100 ft-lb's. Not that I doubt Audi ................ but! Does any one have any input [opinion] on the correct torque setting?

As a side note the new Super Sports's are superb under foot. It's hard to compare 7,000 miles of Pierelli P-Zero to 100 miles of Michelin Super sport but the feeling is that these are a superior tire! Of course time will be the best test.

From the R8 V8 Owner's Manual, the correct tightening torque is,
    120 Newton-Meters, or 88.51 Foot-Pounds.

85-100ft/lbs is fine as long as you do them all the same per wheel. I prefer to stay around 90ft/lbs myself.
