Does A 20" Mercedes SL wheels fit into the R8?

Hi guys,

I had a Mercedes SL500 and I installed Forgiato wheels on it (20x9 front, 20x11 rear). I traded the car for R8 and kept the wheels, would you know if they fit in the R8 or not?

It would appear that they have the same bolt pattern - 5 on 112 - so that's a good start.

Do you know the offset and back spacing? That's what will make or break the deal for you.

Here's some of that info for the OZ Ultraleggera wheels off of Tire Rack's site:

Front
19x8.5
Offset: 38mm
Backspacing: 6.29"
Bolt Pattern: 5-112

Rear
19x11
Offset: 45mm
Backspacing: 7.80"
Bolt Pattern: 5-112

Some of the (Tire Rack) available wheels are showing an offset of 43mm front and 51mm rear, but they don't list the back spacing.

I can't find any 20" rims showing the offset and back spacing, but if it's similar to what you're seeing above, there's a chance that your 20's will fit.

The R8's touchy about these measurements and with a 20" rim, there's a good chance of experiencing rubbing.

There's a thread by OEMPlus that has a lot of great info about rims that fit, I'm not sure if it's been updated in a while, though. Search away.

I purchased my second set of wheels from someone who wanted 20" wheels. I don't know what brand of wheels they used, but I know they worked because they sold me their stock wheels with new tires for ~$2300.

I have sent an email to Forgiato and they replied that the wheels wouldn't fit because it was made specifically for the SL mercedes...
I was hoping that it would've fit but what can I say

I would test fit them, only thing u need is a plastic center ring, since the benz uses a bigger bore ... I am running also Forgiato's , very nice rim 245 and 325 Conti's
