Respraying O.E 19" Wheels to Black

    Hi,

My R8 is currently undergoing full respray from the original metallic green to arctic white with metallic black sideblades.

Just a quick question : Does respraying my original 19" wheels upset future wheel balancing or alignment? Please help

Not at all. You can powder coat or just spray, but I think powder coating wheels will hold up better.

I'll second Daily's comment - you don't want to spray them, you want to get them powder coated. It will last longer, seals better, doesn't chip as easily and is a better way to change the color.

And no, it won't cause any balance issues what so ever.

Wow, a respray from green to white, I guess you've never heard of a vinyl wrap.

You can get a better, higher gloss finish with paint. And if you stay away from gravel ,should be just fine. Speaking of alignment... if you decide to powder-coat, be sure your coater masks off certain areas. (such as lug nut contact area, conical centering system.) your questions ARE warranted. Got me to thinking!

I just found out from the paint shop today that they dont have powder coat facilties so i opted out for all the wheels to be fully resprayed in gloss black (same as my r8's side blades). Thanks for the advice harrison

what kinda of resale hit will you take for a full respray? Also do you mind if I ask how much a full repspray cost?
