Got a great trip planned !

I'm picking my R8 up next Wednesday - booked on the ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge on the Thursday evening and heading down to a great hotel at Uriage on the edge of the Alps for Friday evening. then on to Nice to pick my girlfriend up at the airport on the Saturday evening ( she can't get the time off on Friday !) and on to three days in Monaco and seeing Bryan Ferry play at the Monte Carlo sporting club on the Monday evening, before we had back into the Alps and a stop at St Moritz on the Tuesday before the ferry home on Wednesday - seemed like a good excuse to test out my new car !!!!!
we've just returned home from Monaco today and as always Casino square was overflowing with Ferrari's Lambo's RR phantoms, Enzo's , Zondas etc - but only saw one R8 - a spanish registered car - don't know if deliveries have started in France/Monaco yet - so still seemingly a (very) rare car over there !

Hey Merck, I was just in Monaco a few days ago and YES, casino square was jumping. Lot's of Bentleys too. But I didn't see any R8s? Love Monaco...

Got any other plans? Cannes maybe? Heaps of parties.. You're soo lucky you have your R8.

Hi bz888 - sounds like you enjoyed Monaco - it's a fantastic place - we usually have 3 or 4 trips a year down there - always for the historic grand prix ( every even year i.e 2004 / 06 /08 ) make sure you go next year it's fantastic - book the Fairmont hotel ( formerly Loews ) and you can watch the racing from the swimming pool on the roof ! and we always go a couple of times for the music festival at the sporting club - saw Sting last year (Vicky, my girlfriend was on the stage with him ! ) and saw Lionel Ritchie on Monday and Peter Gabriel last night - makes for a great holiday as well as car and people spotting in casino square !

Got back home this morning from a 2000 mile trip to the Alps and Monaco in my R8 - only picked it up last Wednesday !
The car drove fantastically and I'm now just beyond the running in mileage I can start to use it properly !
As mentioned elsewhere on the forum the attention it receives is incredible - concierge parked outside the casino in Monte Carlo over the weekend it was difficult to get back into it because of the crowds taking pictures ( and ignoring the Ferrari's and Lambo's parked closeby !) people walking out on Zebra crossings and just standing there taking photos - cars driving alongside on the Autoroute taking videos, people shouting "R Huit, R Huit " as we drove past etc etc

The car went like a dream - we did 760 miles on Tuesday from Monaco to Luxembourg at a fairly constant 95-100 mph and it never missed a beat, carried enough luggage for two of us and did around 21 mpg - What a fantastic car !

Not to bother you, but you should vary the speed of a car when running in. Als switch gear to run in other gears. I think you're being too careful!

I still haven't got mine yet, despite having the deposit in a full 12months prior to you!!! The wait is getting painful. I'm told Sept by my dealer It ad better be Sept 1!!
