Few pics- R8 courtesy - F430 Higher Car

Audi managed to get a R8 to the airport to meet me
Latest on mine is that she needs a new clutch so I might have the courtesy car for a while.
Not really feeling the Grey side blades on the car , also the extended leather pack I don't like at all . The stitching is white and does not match the seats or steering wheel I find this odd and a very expensive option ,in my opinion not worth the money !
If anyone would like me to take some photos of the extended leather pack just HOLLA.

Soon as I jumped in the courtesy R8 I could feel the difference from that clutch to mine , smooth gear changes

Looks like I just got a duff clutch from the off set !

Good to hear that you are being well looked after now. How did you find the hire car compared to the "sorted" loan car.

The smoke was 100% Clutch , after being in autos for years i forgot what a burning clutch smelt like lol.

Ever since i was a young boy i always said by the time i`m 40 i WILL own a ferrari . After driving a F430 spider for a weekend i now never want to own a ferrari.
Maybe if i had not drove & owned the R8 i would of love it...

Way to noisy , the seats make you sweat after about 20 mins , the inside reminded me of my first car a mk1 escort .
In London it never turned one single head , where the Audi people stop and stare .I parked it outside where i was djing last night , the doormen told me there must of been over a 100 photos taken

Yes Audi are looking after me right now by putting me in another R8 too bloody right after the hassle i had..
I will remain quite until Adui have come back to me regarding the £6,000 they cost me and see how they deal with that .
And yes the top peeps at Audi UK DO look on this forum as they have asked me about my posts..

I am not sure why they owe you 6k.

You didn't need the Ferrari as a replacement or is that a requirement for your job?

What did you have the day before the R8?

I doubt you have any legal claim for loss of earnings no matter the shoddy treatment by the RAC.

    imclueless....
I have every legal right to claim back loss of earnings and the cost of I higher car of the same standard(Consumer rights act 1987) In fact if i was able to higher a R8 it would have been £300 more for the weekend than the F430 . I was in a SLK AMG before the R8 what the hell has that got to do with it ? , I worked very hard to buy my DREAM CAR.. So you tell me , when you get your R8 IF it broke down within the first two weeks and Audi could not replace you with any sort of car that came close within 48 hours what would you do ? higher a ford escort ??? The fact Audi did not have in place what was meant to be in place cost me my nights wages (£2,000) Taxi`s home , replacement car ect..
Lets see if your so COOL about it if this happens to you.

No I will be extremely p*ssed off but I have never heard of claiming for loss of earnings for a faulty car. There would millions of claims every year.

The Consumer Protection act 1987 is only if you are injured by a product

the question about your previous cars was to find out about your previous experiences is merely to guage your expectations. A TVR driver would expect this a Lexus user would not

The breakdown cover they quote in the back does not specify a similar car. I suspect there are many weasel words in these things to get out of paying out

Also don't forget you didn't buy the car from Audi but from a private indivdual and you contract is with him

If you crash your car - the hire car you get is likely to be a fiesta. If you try to claim off a the 3rd party the insurance would require you to show proof you need x type of car.

Take it easy guys, no blood on the floor please !!!!

You should look at the Sale of Goods Act (1990), if you really want to go down this route.

But, I think you will find Imclueless is right. Your contract - and therefore your claim - is with the vendor who sold you the car since the goods were defective.

If there was a serious DESIGN DEFECT then you would, in addition, have a claim against the manufacturers.

Having said that. I have found VAG to be amongst the best manufacturers for customer service. I have had Audi's since 1991 and, of course, had a few problems from time to time.

The service and support I've had has always been excellent, both from the dealer and Audi. In one instance, my S2 was being looked at by the specialist team at Milton Keynes and they lent me a brand new one, fully insured, for 2 months.

In my personal experience, they are genuinley more helpful and far better in this regard than almost any other manufacturer.

This is a personal perspective. Hope they fix things for you, Scott.

I also think that Audi will do there best. It all sounds more **** up and bad luck (if it happened on Wednesday say there would be more people to sort it out)

They are likely to make a good will payment with no liabilty etc but I doubt it would be £6k.

I just think you should lower your expectations
