Anyone swapped V10 coupe for V10 Spyder?

I haven't noticed any ripples in the top on mine (MY11 though). Top up, rear window open is awesome. And is there a car that sounds better at startup than the r8 - esp w the top down???? Hmm, maybe I will just keep the Spyder

Anyone did the vacuum mod for the exhaust flaps open all the time on there Spyder?
Is it ok for DD and any point in getting aftermarket exhaust with this mod done?

Also anyone notice scuttle shake with the spyder like on other convertibles?

Not done the vacuum mod on spyder, there is no scuttle shake at all Steveo on either of my spyders

I suspect doing this mod dos not gain you much in sound improvement on a V10 and could possibly have the disadvantage of reducing back pressure at low revs?

Aftermarket would sound great if you want the theatre.

As for scuttle shake..I never felt it both on the road or the track..but then I am only a 8/10ths driver in the R8 as I am adverse to fences,guardrails and grass.

Never felt it on speed bumps or dips in the road either.

What a fabulous car..just like the coupe!

If they could only reduce the gale in the cab a bit..it would be a 10 from me.

Well i never owned a coupe
But i did buy spyder v10
And i feel the spyder is way sexier with top
Down and sweet melody playing in the backround.
Just my .02 cents.

After nearly a year of ownership had the Akrapovic titanium exhaust installed. The sound is absolutely awesome and I drive with the top down 90% of the time.

Wonder if winter is the time to do the swap. I am tempted if i can find the right deal....

The Spyder has never really done it for me, just doesn't have the presence of the coupe. To me, it doesn't look like a supercar, perhaps it's down to not being able to see the engine, or the lines aren't right and flowing enough. So, I'd stick with the coupe.
