    Anyone swapped V10 coupe for V10 Spyder?

    Say V10 Coupe is (10,10) on (Performance, Subjective Feel Good) factors.

    Where would you rate the Spyder in comparison? For example, (10,11), or (9,11) etc.

    Curious because the Spyder bug is beginning to bite. Plus again tempted by that manual gearbox.....

    After having both..I thought they both felt similar in driving.
    But the Spyder certainly had a different feel and persona to the coupe whilst driving
    Maybe that was caused by the canvas roof and the engine all hidden away?..but when I got the coupe I was just as happy and glad to see that V10 back in the open.
    The thing that I did not like about the spyder was the wind turbulence at over 90kmh.
    It was uncomfortable at freeway speeds and I could not quite grasp how the aerodynamics were not worked on better(if possible)
    To sum up..both are terrific cars and to me felt quite similar in handling and performance.
    It's what floats the boat for each of us.

    Ironic you post this bc I was going to post the opposite - spyder to coupe. I love the spyder, but am trading my 458 coupe for a 458 spider and would like to have one coupe in the garage.

    Interested to hear people's thoughts as well.

    I take it your comments about turbulence is with roof down?
    Whats it like with roof up, any different tothe coupe?

    Yes it is with roof down

    As mentioned it is substantial at high speeds.

    I am 6 foot but my wife who is 5,4 also got affected quite badly over 110kmh.

    As for when the roof is closed..the integrity of fit is great..I went on the track a couple of times and hit around 210kmh and it felt solid as a rock with no leaks or whistles.

    One thing I did love about the Spyder was driving with the roof closed and having the back window fully open.

    Hearing the exhaust exposed like that was fabulous.

    One thing I did notice with my Spyder and a couple of others I saw is ripples or folds on the back side roof corners were the roof folds down.

    It looked quite ungainly.

    This was on the 2010 model so they might have remedied this on later models.

    It might be worth noting that the roof and mechanism is a outsourced product made by a german company for Audi.

    Yes Gazza your right, there are ripples on the roof where the mechanism folds and mines a 2010.

    Simpleman, i swapped the coupe for a spyder, then sold it for a Porsche and just got back into a spyder V10. Belieive it or not the UK is one of the biggest markets for soft tops which is ironic given our **** weather!

    I just love driving the car with top up, down and as Gazza says with top up but rear window down to hear that V10 popple through the exhuast in sport mode, i havent tried one but i bet the V8 spyder sounds even better.

    Yes, you cant see the engine through glass which is a shame & you dont have the extra storrage behind the seats, but you do get that agressive vented stance from the rear which i love, and a feeling you have two cars in one.

    By the way, took my car to the ring a couple of weeks ago and here are some pics
