    Is a 2010 a 3 year old car now?

Hey guys - I'm looking at a 2010 4.2. MT. Car only has 1,500 miles. But when I'm working on a fair counter offer, should I really be considering 3 years of depreciation? With 2013's on the way, isn't that really what this vehicle is? And/or, how much consideration should be given for the ultra-low mileage? Thanks.

Probably 4 years, as there's no '13 R8. From most of the articles, it's going to be a '14. Hence the reason Audi is holding it until what appears to now be March 2013.

I would check in "in service" date...

A 2010 could have an in service of date of mid to late 2009, but it could also have sat for a while at the dealership or been manufactured toward the end of the year (I believe May/June for Audi), which would make it a lot newer then a car manufactured in September 2009.

For example, this past August I found a 2010 R8 V10 Coupe which had an in service date of August 27, 2010. the car was a 2010 however it was not even 2 years old yet

If you don't mind me asking, what is the price talk on the car? Depending on the price, this could be a real value with only 1500 miles. And, you still have about a year on the factory warranty. Moreover, it's a manual transmission which I think will hold value better given its soon extinction.

Hey Bob - Current asking price is $105K. Sticker was $127,500 including guzzler tax & destination. I think it's pretty good number. How about you? The mileage is what's really intriguing about this car.

Personally, I'm attracted by the few miles. Assuming there is no negative history attached to the car, try offering $98k. If need be (likely), move up to $100k. This still seems reasonable and allows the seller to avoid dipping below $100k (likely a consideration). Good luck and let us know what you decided.
