What's The Story On Streaming Audio???

The dealer told me yesterday that the adapter is not compatible with the Audi Navigation System "plus" that I have in my 2010. Oh well. I ordered an extension cable for the AMI cord and will just listen that way. Or, turn the whole thing off and just listen to the engine!

I have this in my 2011. It allows you to plug in an iPod but I haven't seen any streaming options. But then, the iPod I'm using in my car doesn't have streaming capabilities.

Having said that, the page also talks about a "Audi music interface Bluetooth® adapter" which "The Bluetooth adapter for the Audi music interface gives you convenient wireless access to music on your mobile phone or media player via the Audi music interface. Data is transferred using Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP), which requires a terminal device with A2DP capability." Now I have bluetooth connectivity for my phone but haven't seen any way of streaming music.

I'd be interested in finding out. I do have an Android phone, so knowing how to use the hotspot capability to stream would be good.

You must have an old head unit then, If it has a media button rather than a TV button it "should work". Not sure I'd trust the dealers view on how our cars work. Part number for the adapter is in the manual from memory and I've personally seen it working in the TTRS (same head unit).

I've done some digging around online (google, ebay, amazon) and haven't found any place to source the "Bluetooth adapter for Audi Music Interface". Is the only likely place to get them from an Audi dealer directly?
