What's The Story On Streaming Audio???

I just bought a 2010 with Audi Navigation Plus w/AMI. I am completely confused on what is required to stream music (Spotify, Pandora, etc.) wirelessly from my iPhone 4. Can anybody help? The threads and info online are totally confusing. Thanks!

Hi Garrett -

Will the older R8's (2010) be able to "upgrade" for this most basic feature found on cars that cost a quarter (or less) of an R8? In the meantime, what is the solution to gain access to my iPhone, connected to the system from further away than behind my seat? Thanks!

My buddy streams in his 09 - something to do with an android phone and using it as a hot spot and then having his iPod use the hotspot for connection. Not sure how he's doing it, but I'll ask.

Thanks. But I spoke to the dealer this morning and it's not possible with the version of MMI that I have in my 2010. I just ordered an extension cable and will hardwire right into AMI interface cable. Hope that works.

I have this in my 2011. It allows you to plug in an iPod but I haven't seen any streaming options. But then, the iPod I'm using in my car doesn't have streaming capabilities.

Having said that, the page also talks about a "Audi music interface Bluetooth® adapter" which "The Bluetooth adapter for the Audi music interface gives you convenient wireless access to music on your mobile phone or media player via the Audi music interface. Data is transferred using Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP), which requires a terminal device with A2DP capability." Now I have bluetooth connectivity for my phone but haven't seen any way of streaming music.

I'd be interested in finding out. I do have an Android phone, so knowing how to use the hotspot capability to stream would be good.
