When something is to good to be true, it never is

When something is to good to be true, there is always a reason.

    285,000.00 AED = 77,588.96 USD

Did did a carfax after speaking to the dealer, and they tell me this car is clean with no history! I hate when people lie, just a pet hate especially when someone will fork out this cash for a dream car and have problems with it form day one.

recorded in the US as salvage!

That sucks bud, the only thing there was no airbag deployment so rather the damage wasn't that bad/water damage or no one wasn't is in the car at the time.

I know it sucks but when someone hit my track car it was straighter after the crash once repaired than it was out the factory.

Still shouldn't be sold as a clean car.

That's the worst thing that could happen to anyone! buy a dream car from saved up cash and end up with a nightmare of fixing dilemmas!

Shame on those people that sell such cars. Just state the truth about the car and drop the price to be fair, someone will buy it! I know lots of guys who don't mind buying a crashed car since they are paying much less!

Curious how many of these (not just R8s, but just cars in general) will start showing up all over due to Sandy and the flooding.

Post Katrina, there were a ton of them - someone buys them in bulk down there, ships them elsewhere, cleans them up (visually) and then lies.

Not sure the above is due to flooding, but with a total loss reported and no structural damage - I wouldn't be surprised if water was involved.

Depending on why it's a salvage title, might not be that bad. Insurance companies won't total a car out for no reason, and if the car was damaged to the point in which it was totaled, it's hard to imagine someone spending that kind of coin to repair it.

I'd have it looked at by an Audi dealership and take it for a test drive. Maybe it was stolen and salvaged?

If rebuilt properly it could be a great deal, but as you stated much of the time when something is too good to be true...

There is always a positive and negative way to look at these things i guess!

Spoke to the garage today and they are going to try and find out more history for me now.

I said i would want the audi dealer to look over the car at there expense and do a full check up, if they give it the all clear then you never know maybe might just give them an even lower offer and see what happens!
