2012 vs previous year R8 Dynos

Looks like the 2012's are the year to buy Not sure what Audi has done but they have 20 to 40 more hp than the previous years. This is on the V10s. Guess they have changed the engine maps or ECUs? Anyone know for sure what they did?

2012 R8 dynoed 10 to 15 hp more than mine at the wheels and he just had exhaust on his. I have the APR tune, exhaust and intakes. I belive Heffner has experienced the same thing when he put turbos on the 12 spyder.

Maybe I should put mine on a dyno before I make the final decision to move on to the SLC coupe?

I think you should. I think you will be surprised at how much power it really has. A stock R8 v10 pre 12 puts out around 430 on a dyno. Mine with my mods was around 480. A stock 12 with just exhaust was right at 500!! That is LP560 range or higher.

I wonder what the APR 93 tune added on the 12's? It will be interesting to find out.

I think we should get you on the dyno and find out Geez, your car may be 510 to 525 at the wheels.

Interesting thing is the filters give the pre 12s way more power. The 12s only get a few hp from the filters.

If it was an engine software mgmt issue, could a tune (Stasis, APR, etc) potentially decrease the amount of power?

No clue. I only know what I see and that I know I like to drive fast haha. As far as anything technical I have no idea. Waiting for some of the smart people to chime in.
