2009 r8 5.2??

Didn't Audi release the V10 version for the model year 2010? There is a red 2009 V10 listed on carguru.com which I find strange. Please correct me if I am wrong.

There were a very few 2009 V10s available, and they don't have all the equipment the regular 2010 cars do, like the hi-rez screen, and AMI.

Yep - I have a 2009 V10. I'm the 3rd owner. It was a press car, I believe.

I have 2009 5.2. I believe they are considered 2009.5 Mine was built in March 2009.

So Audi did not release the high resolution screen until 2010? Do you know of any other differences between 09 and 10 5.2? Is that true for the V8's as well?

BTW, did you go to Cal? I was in class of 2000.

Yup, but much earlier than you (which makes me old!). I was in the Class of 84.

The biggest differences are the the screen resolution and the AMI. The screen resolution is not terrible, but just not as good. I do wish I had the AMI so I could have the Ipod integration. You can use the Aux. Adapter in the center console but the sound quality of that plug is not up to par and you cannot change the music from the car controls.

The sound quality from the SD cards is good, however, but you are limited to SD cards. You cannot use the SDHC cards so you are limited to two 2gb SD cards. There used to be 4gb SD cards available, but I can't find them anymore.

One more change from the higher resolution head unit is there is a little car icon on the screen that comes on when backing up that shows you which parking sensors on the car are detecting something. Unfortunately the older head units do not have this.

One advantage of a 2009, however, is that we can change out our license plate lights to LED's and not throw a code error. Some others have finally resolved this for the later car years, however.

They do say the new nav units are also a bit faster, I replaced mine (easy) with a 2011 one and it's indeed a bit faster, but not significantly so, it's still dog slow in my opinion.
