Mesh on top of motor

Hello

Does anyone know if I would have to use high heat paint to respray the small mesh piece on the top of the engine. The GT has this in red and I think it looks great.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and found nothing.

Mmmmm don't know. But if you need a good high temp paint then go for the Duplicolor caliper paint.

That sounds like a good option for paint. I wonder how hot that mesh actually gets.

I was looking at the same thing before. Great idea as long as its hi temp paint.

Be carefull with normal paint just in case. I would not risk car fire

I think that it will be the best to powder coat it, or change it with GT one, because that mesh is not that expensive.

I agree. That is my biggest concern. Maybe engine enamel paint would work. I think the paint is rated to 500 deg f.

Duplicolor caliper paint will also work no problems. I have painted on top of a PES Supercharger with this paint....no issues.

I did mine about 6 months ago and used engine paint.

Just cleaned the mesh first and sprayed 2 coats.

Came up perfect and has not deteriorated in any way.

I will post a picture later today but you can see it on this clip.

I did a light sanding and painted it with High Temp Paint. Masked off some Audi Rings as well. Here's a pic.
