Hey everyone,

I'm talking about the key fob! I simply hate it!

Gives no indication that i'm driving a hot car

And my sister's A4 has a nicer thiner half black half chrome fob!

Ours should at least say R8!

Do you guys feel the same?

Has anyone done anything creative and is there a replacement for this current ugly fob?

Personally I absolutely don't care if someone knows what I'm driving based on the key fob - but I would love it if it had the keyless entry like so many other cars do. You never need the key fob out of your pants, just walk up, it unlocks the door when you open it, and push a button and go. As silly as it sounds, I'm hooked on it from my past few cars (that cost 1/3 as much as even my used R8). That and the new Sat Nav and wireless that the current Audis have is pretty much the only thing I wish the R8 had or could have.

This comes up all the time - and yes, I think that given it is such a fundamental part of the interface with the car, it should be something better than an outdated bit of tat from their parts bin.

Omgbananas, I didnt mean it that way, hehehe not for others to know, i meant porsche ferrari aston martin fobs look special! Ours looks ordinary when the R8 is an exotic! All this effort into making the R8 a stylish icon, and the key fob looks like this! Come on

No solution? I've tried those ebay cheap covers in several colors, none look nice.

My bad - I misread/misunderstood.

In general given how cool and high tech I feel the car is, the interior and key fob, in my opinion, feel ... spare parts bin as randombloke says.

There is a guy on my facebook has a aftermarket R8 key its carbon. I don't know if he made it or brought it tho.
