Yes, warmer to the touch in winter, better grip on sharp turns and esthetically gives a contrast of finishes in the cabin + compliments alacanatara headlining if you also choose this.

Only down side with the R8 is that you can not have with extended leather, a real shame IMHO. I chose extended leather over alacantara, still have the beautifully finished alacanatara headlining. Really wished I could have had both.

You may be able to do both very soon in the exclusive package, also in earlier brochures it says that the door center panels will be alacantara, this does not seem to happening, ask Guility & R8England - again a great shame as this finished off the combination.

I have the standard dash, almost no difference is noticable between leather and standard dash.

I've seen it side to side.

The seats are not hot or cold to the touch unlike black leather which can burn your behind in the summer !

Very good grip - you do not slide around like you can do on leather seats.

Love the alcantara look. Guilty had posted pics here before.

my personal preference though is leather. and in this part of the world, alcantara seats will kill resale value.

Agree with everything! Big mistake not to combine extended leather & Alcantara.......Even bigger mistake not to offer CF in addition to above!! (see Gallardo Superleggara interior: perfection!). Audi should get this straight by the time we confirm our R10 order..........

The car in the more cleaning thread has alcantara seats:

    More cleaning

Audi don't do alcantara on the dash as far as I'm aware.
