My R8 is En Route! The week long wait already sucks...

Alright so as some of you are aware I ended up getting a deal done on a new 2012 R8 V10 6MT last week. The stars aligned for me on this one as I have been wanting a R8 since I first saw one late 2007 and my dream had been of owning a V10 with the 6MT. I figured that this would be the year that I would hopefully get one, and even with that I didn't think it would be until at least summer. But the dream has become reality, and the biggest thanks and shout out goes to my awesome wife who to my amazement gave me the green light to get a new 2012 V10. I thought the chances of her saying yes would be 10% at best, but I guess my persistence (and annoying her lol) paid off.

Originally I figured that a slightly used 2010 or 2011 would probably be the best route for me, but after some research thanks to this board, and also the $25k off advertising on a V8 R8 by Audi Atlanta, I decided to be persistent and contact EVERY dealer in the country with a new 2012 V10 6MT. I almost pulled the trigger on a used 2010 CPO with 4900 miles and almost on a new Phantom Black 2012 with 600 miles on it, but the very last day I received an email from a dealer that the week before was not willing to budge more than $20k off MSRP. Seems a lot of dealers were all over the place on how much they were willing to discount R8's, but at the end I was able to get a sweet deal at almost $33k off msrp! I was even able to get the dealer to work with a local dealer in AZ to get top trade dollar for my rare BMW 1M, hence not needing to transport the 1M across country. So here are the specs on my new ride, which was picked up yesterday by GT-MS and is en route to AZ!

Needless to say I am f****n ecstatic and cannot wait for the car to get here, hopefully in 5-7 days!!! I hope all goes smoothly during transport as I had a terrible experience a few years ago in which a car suffered severe damage. But last time I used GT-MS everything was perfect so here is hoping for the same! I will post pics after arrival.

Congrats! The color and options are going to be stunning, you'll see. And with the possibility of Audi abandoning the 6MT in future years, you've got a real car aficionado's classic coming your way. The original design - lights, trim, lines, and all. I think the original design has already become so iconic, it will always represent the pinnacle of auto design. Kind of like a '66 Stingray corvette. Timeless style.

Only 50 miles on ODO means best quality build on final testing. Looks like you found a keeper. I hope you plan to keep it for many many years, drive the hell out of it, and maintain it well.

Did you negotiate on the new Ibis 2012 V10 6mt at Peoria Audi in Illinois? If so what were they offering?

I believe I contacted them but they were never a player as far as discounting went. Best deal I found on Ibis was Santa Monica Audi, but due to CA tax laws we were not able to get the deal done due to my trade. Their price on the Ibis was far better than any other, just like the deal on my Suzuka Grey was by far the best I found on that color.

Where in NM are you located? I drive through NM almost every week as I work in El Paso 3 days per week. I will be taking the R8 to El Paso I believe the second week of March to get the car registered in Texas.

Love Suzuka..I also found a 2012 Suzuka Grey V10 Spyder a couple weeks ago, same options like enhanced leather, red stitching, white instrument panel! Wasn't worth it for me with shipping and duties to Canada

I know what it's listed for lol. Do some negotiating and you can get the price way down, ask me how I know. Mine was $166k MSRP.

wow almost 20% off, great job. Congrats, you will love the stick, probably the best manual I have ever driven. Now use some of that money to mod, not much needed to make a great car the perfect car, just exhaust, tune, filters and sprintbooster. Since brand new would stick with Stasis to avoid warranty problems. oh and did you get them to throw in the 4 year Audicare?
